English Language Development
KCSOS’s ELD team supports districts in ensuring that English learners are able to fully and meaningfully access and participate in a 21st century education from early childhood through grade twelve that results in their attaining high levels of English proficiency, mastery of grade level standards, and opportunities to develop proficiency in multiple languages.
The purpose of the EL Network is to provide a venue for collaboration and professional development among educators leading the work
of supporting the needs of English learners throughout Kern County. Through quarterly meetings, participants will:
- Learn and share best practices for meeting the academic and social emotional needs of English learners
- Stay abreast of state and federal guidance for meeting the needs of English learners
- Network with other educators working to support the needs of English learners
