Bridges Career Development Academy

Bridges Career Development Academy is a structured and supervised school-based collaborative that represents a partnership between the Kern County Probation Department, Kern County Superintendent of Schools, and other community agencies. The program serves youth in grades 9-12 who are court-ordered, referred by their probation officer, or those transitioning from one of the county’s residential youth treatment facilities. In addition to offering academic classes toward completion of their high school diploma requirements, students may also participate in classes featuring construction skills, welding, culinary arts, and food-to-table gardening. Multiple industry-recognized certifications, such as, OSHA for Construction, ServSafe, and CPR are offered as well. Additionally, on-site cognitive behavioral treatment and post-secondary and/or career transitioning services are available for Bridges students.
