Resources for Education Liasons
What is an Education Liaison?
Every school district and public charter school has a special person called a Foster Youth Education Liaison. This person helps students in foster care with:
- Getting you into school quickly even if lacking the right school or health records.
- Finding the right classes and programs for you.
- Arranging rides to and from school.
- Making sure your school records move with you smoothly.
- Applying for college and financial aid.
If you are a student in foster care, you should tell your liaison when you first enroll in a new school or go into care and if you have any questions or problems with your school experience. They are there to help with your enrollment, attendance, grades, and how you’re treated at school.
Find your liaison here with our Education Liaison list.
