Kern County Network for Children

Strengthening Families, Building Futures

Kern County Network for Children serves many functions benefiting children and families in Kern County. We are currently responsible for the following key projects:

  • Administrative and fiscal agent for Kern County’s Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) program, including the development of Differential Response in specific Family Resource Centers.
  • Administrative oversight of the Dream Center a one-stop resource center for foster youth and emancipated youth.
  • Administrative and fiscal agent for Kern County’s Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment (CAPIT) program.
  • Administrative and fiscal agent for Kern County’s Community Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) grant and the county’s Children’s Trust Fund.
  • Designated by the Kern County Board of Supervisors as the Child Abuse Prevention Council for the County of Kern.
  • Host of Kern County’s Leadership Development program.
  • Implementation, Evaluation, and Oversight of Differential Response Services throughout Kern County.
  • Provider of oversight, coordination, and technical assistance to Kern County’s system of Accredited Local Community Collaboratives.
  • Training provider for county agencies, schools, and community-based organizations.
  • Lead coordination body of integrated services to children and families of Kern County. Improved service integration is the primary goal of all KCNC’s policy-related activities including:
    • Administrative Technical Assistance Committee (ATAC)
    • Kern County Collaborative
