The Kern County Superintendent of Schools office, in conjunction with the Kern High School District, California State University, Bakersfield, Taft College and Bakersfield College, annually host the annual Kern County College Night at the Mechanics Bank Convention Center. The annual event attracts thousands of students and parents to explore higher education options.
