Workstation Evaluations

A workstation evaluation is an ergonomic assessment involving an analysis of an employee at their workstation to help facilitate optimal working postures, ergonomic work practices, and correct workstation set-up. A workstation evaluation is often requested by an employee reporting pain or discomfort believed to be related to workstation ergonomics.

In an effort to ensure employees are provided training and guidance on ergonomic standards, an online course is available and can be accessed at GetSafetyTrained.com. This online course walks employees through a computer workstation ergonomic self-evaluation, teaching them how to make the adjustments needed to ensure the correct neutral posture. Often times, completing this self-evaluation course provides the employee with all the information they require to ensure proper ergonomic standards are achieved, thereby alleviating pain or discomfort.

Employees who continue to experience pain or discomfort after completing the online course and making the recommended adjustments, can request a personalized workstation evaluation by completing the Workstation Evaluation Request Form available through the link below. Once the request form is received by Human Resources, an in-person workstation evaluation will be scheduled. At the completion of the evaluation the evaluator will submit a report to Human Resources who will then work with the employee’s supervisor to ensure any recommended workstation changes, if any, occur.

Occasionally despite our best efforts, employees continue to experience pain and discomfort after the in-person workstation evaluation. Should this occur, employees should contact Human Resources at Ext. 661-636-4747 to discuss the next steps.
