Fiscal Support

The Division of Fiscal Support is the accounting link to Kern county’s 46 school districts and local education agencies. We make sure that each district complies with a variety of complex budgetary, state, and federal reporting requirements. Not only do we monitor each district’s budget, but we also process their payroll and accounts payable batches daily. We provide auditing services to ensure that sufficient funds are available for all payroll, and commercial warrant obligations.

External Business Services

The External Business Services department assists all 46 of Kern County’s K-12 school districts as well as district-sponsored charter schools and the local community colleges with their fiscal support needs.

District Advisory Services

District Advisory serves as a fiscal support resource for school districts and charter schools in Kern County. The team’s primary function is monitoring the financial health of LEAs within the county.
