Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS)

PBIS Tier 1 Cohorts

This 4.5 day training will help your PBIS team acquire the knowledge and resources to systematically implement PBIS Tier 1 principles. Each team will develop an action plan that is in direct alignment with the TFI to guide implementation during the cohort and beyond. More details.

PBIS Tier 2 Cohorts

This 4.5 day training provides teams with the components necessary to scale up Tier 1 structures to meet the needs of students who require additional behavioral support. Teams will learn to develop a screening process for students in need of additional support, teams will learn to more effectively match the student’s need to interventions, implement CICO to fidelity, and follow a Tier II action plan that is aligned with the TFI. PBIS Refresher

This is a 2 day workshop designed for school sites who have been implementing school wide PBIS. This workshop is ideal for school sites who have had significant changes in the makeup of their tier 1 teams, have not attended training in some time, or anyone who wants to ensure fidelity in implementation of PBIS Tier 1 structures. Behavior Management Support 

This is a 8 half-day series designed to teach behavioral strategies using evidenced based practices. This workshop is geared to support teachers in being proactive in addressing challenging behaviors and reducing the likelihood of challenging behaviors happening. Additionally, teachers will learn corrective strategies that are focused on long-term and not just short-term behavioral change. More details.

Active Supervision 

This workshop is geared towards classified staff who provide supervision of students in various settings throughout campus. Staff will learn proactive strategies that can eliminate many threats to student physical and psychological safety. Additionally, staff will learn strategies to intervene when threats to student’s safety are observed throughout campus.

PBIS Action Planning 

This session is designed for PBIS teams who are looking to expand their impact. Teams will administer the Tiered Fidelity Inventory to assess their fidelity implementation of PBIS. Upon completion of the TFI, teams will be guided to reflect on areas of growth that would most align with their goals. Teams will be given time to work with a CA PBIS representative to support them throughout this process.

From Recess to Relationships: A Workshop for Classified/Afterschool Staff 

PBIS at Home 

This is a workshop for caregivers on how to adapt the PBIS framework at home. This workshop is in alignment with Culturally Responsive Pedagogy as caregivers explore how to create environments that respect the culture of each unique household, while supporting behavior expectations on campus. Caregivers will also be taught evidence based strategies to promote desired behaviors.

Building Relationships in the Classroom

Classroom relationships are a prerequisite for learning. Every educator aspires to have caring relationships with their students, and oftentimes they encounter challenges along the way. This workshop will help educators learn to overcome these barriers to more effectively develop, maintain, and restore relationships with their students.
