James Robinson – Area 6

James Robinson was elected to represent Trustee Area 6 on the Kern County Board of Education in 2024.

Mr. Robinson is a native Californian and has resided in Bakersfield since 1991. A life-long musician, Mr. Robinson has been a part of the Bakersfield music and entertainment scene since 1995 as an ensemble and solo performer. Mr. Robinson does charity entertainment for several community groups, including Right to Life Kern County and the Kern County Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

With a passion for developing young people into effective communicators and bold leaders, Mr. Robinson earned a master’s degree in fine arts from National University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Phoenix. He currently serves as a Charter Coach with the Kern Resource Center, teaching English and History.
