Back to School
2021-2022

School districts throughout the county are looking forward to welcoming students back to campus for full-time, five-days-a-week, in-person learning. School district start dates can be found HERE. Staff and administrators have worked diligently to establish health and safety protocols to keep everyone safe as we return to in-person instruction. Individual school districts will communicate updates directly with parents through their normal communication channels.

Masking in K-12 School Settings

The California Department of Public Health recently updated its K-12 Schools Guidance, which includes an indoor mask mandate for students and for adults when students are present.  Per the CDPH, school districts are legally obligated to plan for and enforce the mask mandate.  Individual school districts will communicate directly with parents about their expectations and practices as the new school year approaches. This graphic aims to help clarify when masks will be required for students and adults while in a K-12 school setting. Persons exempted from wearing a mask due to a medical condition, must wear a non-restrictive alternative, such as a face shield with a drape on the bottom edge, as long as their condition permits it (per CDPH guidelines).
