Leaders in Life
17th Annual Leaders In Life Youth Conference set for Thursday, March 17; Matt Bellace to provide keynote address
The Leaders in Life (LIL) Youth Conference is empowering youth to let their voices be heard by presenting the 17th annual youth leadership conference on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Rabobank Convention Center from 8:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Approximately 1,500 middle schools through high school students attend the conference every year, which is organized for teens by teens.
During the Leaders in Life Youth Conference attendees will have the chance to experience new and exciting people through the available workshops concerning information on colleges, businesses, youth organizations, living a healthy lifestyle and much more.
All students will also have the opportunity to visit the resource fair and obtain information from local community organizations on how they can get involved and volunteer in the community. The resource fair is also a great place for students to learn about services available to them.
2016 Leaders in Life Youth Conference keynote speaker will be Matt Bellace, PhD, a youth motivational speaker and stand-up comedian. Dr. Bellace’s primary goal is to encourage young people to pursue natural highs and make healthy choices. He believes that by empowering students to make healthy choices and pursue natural highs, students will be less likely to abuse substances.
Local youth are encouraged to attend the conference by contacting their activities directors or school counselor. The cost for the conference is $15 and it is open to all students between the ages of 11 and 18. For further information on registration, contact Sheri McWilliams at firstname.lastname@example.org.
