KCSOS Mini Grants
$20k awarded to KCSOS teachers to help fund education projects; Community garden at Blanton among the highlights
Every year, KCSOS invites teachers from its Special Education and Student Services divisions to apply for mini-grants to fund unique educational projects.
This year, more than $20,000 was awarded to 29 projects.
“The gifts are meant to benefit students now and in the future,” Christine Frazier said as she handed out the awards at a ceremony on Dec. 1.
Frazier was eager to hear from each teacher about how they intended to use their gifts.
CLC Tech teacher Ogden Kiesel explained to the group about his vision for a community garden at the Blanton Education Center. The garden would be tended by students and staff as an educational a nutritional project he said.
