15th Annual Leaders In Life Youth Conference set for March 13; nearly 2,000 middle & HS students expected
The Leaders in Life (LIL) Youth Conference is empowering youth to let their voices be heard by presenting the 15th annual youth leadership conference on Thursday, March 13th at the Rabobank Convention Center from 8:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Approximately 1,800 middle school through high school students attend the conference every year, which is organized for teens by teens.
“Students throughout the county have planned every aspect of this conference themselves hoping to benefit the community and achieving the recurring theme “Can You Hear Our Rising Voices?,”’ said LIL executive committee member David Cuellar.
During the Leaders in Life Youth Conference attendees will have the chance to experience new and exciting people through the available workshops concerning information on colleges, businesses, youth organizations and much more.
Nationally-recognized keynote speaker Scott Backovich will touch on topics that are most impacting our youth today, providing motivation and encouragement on achieving their goals and reaching their full potential.
“Backovich understands how today’s youth engage with each other and the world around them,” Cuellar said. “We are looking forward to hearing what he has to say about how teens have both grown up in and created a culture that has redefined what it means to connect.”
The conference will also enlighten youth with healthy alternatives that may be used on a daily basis.
Local youth are encouraged to attend the conference by contacting their activities directors or school counselor. The cost for the conference is $12 and it is open to all students between the ages of 11 and 18. For further information on registration, contact Sheri McWilliams at firstname.lastname@example.org.
