Grant Writing Community – You are not alone. #1Blog
I admit I am new to the concept of blogging. Even being a newbie, I do think blogging can be a great way to search out advice, get the inside scoop and learn more about your profession. Blogging is a great way to share information but in a less formal approach. So for this reason, I am venturing out into the blog world to share grant writing tips but most importantly I am hoping it can be a way to create a professional learning community to share our ups and downs together. Grant writing can be a lonely task. Often grant writers are sequestered in a room…..pounding on your keys focused on writing to the criteria, making a compelling case, and racing against the clock as the grant deadline looms. The upside is watching a grant get funded. The even most satisfying part is watching a funded project make a difference in an individual’s life and/or change a community for the better.
There is a community of grant writers out there. We are not alone. Here locally we have the Kern Grant Network . This is a group of professionals who meet regularly to share ideas and learn from each other. There is an upcoming meeting this January 3oth. You can sign up through constant contact.
Blogs are great too. Here are some grant writer blogs that have caught my eye.
