Every day more child care providers are needed in California. You can help children in your community by providing this important service, while earning a good income. As a family child care provider, you will help children learn, grow, and develop. You will play with children, read to them, dry their tears and prepare their meals. You will be teacher, caregiver, and small business owner—all right in your home.

CCIP is designed to increase the supply of licensed, quality child care. The program recruits and trains family child care providers to help meet the great demand for child care services, with an emphasis on infant/toddler care during traditional and non-traditional hours. CCIP was developed to help you become a successful family child care provider and is a free training and support program for individuals who are starting their first family child care home. CCIP trains you to improve your ability to work with children of different ages in topics such as guidance and discipline, nutrition and meal preparation, growth and development, working with babies, working with parents and guides you to build up a successful, strong business.

CCIP participants will become eligible for earned incentive packages of equipment, toys and books upon completion of the training requirements. To become eligible for these incentive packages, participants must complete a minimum of 25 hours of training. CCIP is funded by the California Department of Education.
