National History Day
Ten Kern County students won their categories at the National History Day contest, June 15-19 at University of Maryland
Ten students from Kern County schools won gold medals in their categories at the National History Day competition, which concluded on June 19 at the University of Maryland. For taking first place, each was designated as a “National History Day Scholar” and each entry received $1,000.
Kern County students earned the right to compete at the national competition by winning in their category at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools-sponsored Kern County History Day in March and the state competition held in Riverside in April.
